Archery in London Olympic


Archery is the art of propelling arrows with the use of a bow. A person who participates in archery is typically known as an "archer" or "bowman”. Archery is now practiced in more than 140 countries around the world. Archery made its Olympic in Paris 1990.
The London Olympic will venue Archery competition from Friday 27 July – Friday 3 August at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The numbers of Medal events are 4 – men’s Individual, women’s Individual, men’s Team, and women’s Team. The number of competitors is in total 128: 64 men and 64 women.
The 16 group winners in the Singles and eight best pairs in the Doubles qualify for the knockout stage of the competition that give the final allow and format of the medal holders.
Only six athletes (three men and three women) from each country are allowed.
70 m is the distance that the shooter should find his target. There are individual and team game.  The target is fixed for the individual and team effort and the elimination is managed through it.
The game will be Live Broadcast and also through online live Streaming and you can also watch game online. All four Archery events are played in a head-to-head elimination format.

The Basic tactics of Archery is:

1.       We must be able to  shoot arrows as close to the centre of a target as possible.
2.       Olympic Archery targets are 122cm in diameter, with the gold ring at the centre measuring just 12.2cm.
3.       The target is at a distance of 70m.
4.       Athletes compete with bows, distinctive as the limbs curve outwards at the top.
5.       The Competition of male and female will be different along with their involvement as team.
6.       Athletes must shoot 72 arrows in 12 phases of six arrows each, with each athlete allowed four minutes per phase. The ranking will be managed by the shooting result of 72 arrows.
