Water polo in London Olympic

Water polo or Water ball is a team water sport. The playing team consists of six field players and one goalkeeper. The winner of the game is the team that scores the most goals. Game play involves swimming and treading water. It has strong similarities to the land-based game of team handball. The main difference is that, it is played in water whereas handball is played in a court.

In London Olympics, it is also one of the interesting games included. You can watch 2012 Olympics in London, United Kingdom which are scheduled from 29th July to 12th August at the London 2012 Water Polo Arena in the Olympic Park. The venue has the capacity to hold 5,000 spectators during water polo matches. Even you can watch Olympics online as there is Olympics live streaming system. So, you don’t need to go to the venue itself.

Twelve teams will compete in the men's tournament and eight teams in the women's tournament. All places in the women's competition were confirmed in the World Olympic Games Qualification Tournament in Italy in April, while the men's participants were finalized in the same tournament in Canada earlier in the month. You can watch 2012 Olympics, where the men's event, hosts Great Britain have been drawn in Group B and will take on Olympic champions Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, Beijing 2008 silver medalists USA and bronze medalists Serbia.
