Volleyball in London Olympic

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since 1964. It is also the national Sport of Sri Lanka.

In London Olympics, you can watch the competition for 16 days altogether which will be held from 28th July to 12th August at Earls Court in London. In 2012 Olympics, a total of 144 men and 144 women will compete for gold medals, with 12 teams in both the men’s and women’s competitions. In 2012 Olympics, both the men’s and women’s volleyball competitions begin with a preliminary phase. The 12 teams in each event are divided into two pools of six and each team plays every other team in their pool. The eight best teams from this phase qualify for the knockout phase, with the winners of the semi-finals eventually going head to head for the gold medal.

In London Olympics, all matches of volleyball competition are the best of five sets, with the first four sets going to 25 points. The fifth set goes to 15 points and all sets must be won with at least a two-point advantage. At Beijing 2008, the men's gold medal was won by the USA, while Brazil emerged victorious in the women's event. With a number of teams looking to emulate these successes this summer, competition will be stronger than ever and exciting matches are guaranteed. As there is Olympics live stream, you can watch Olympics online also or you can visit to the Earls Court to watch 2012 Olympics. It is better if you don’t miss to watch London Olympics as it is going to be interesting at all.
