Weightlifting in London Olympic


Weightlifting is a common type of strength training for developing the strength and size of skeletal muscles. It uses the weight force of gravity to oppose the force generated by muscle through concentric or eccentric contraction. It has been contested at every Summer Olympic Games since the 1920 Olympics, as well as twice before then. It debuted at the 1896 Summer Olympics, in Athens, Greece. And, it was also an event at the 1904 Games.
You can watch London Olympics, where weightlifting competitions will be held from 28th July to 7th August at Excel venue. Fifteen gold medals will be awarded and 260 athletes expected to take part where 156 are men and 104 are women. Men’s Weightlifting was featured at the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, with women’s Weightlifting introduced at Sydney 2000.  You can watch London Olympics where weightlifting competitors are divided into 15 weight categories, eight for men and seven for women, with each one a medal event.
