Triathlon in London Olympic


A triathlon is a multi-sport event involving the completion of three continuous and sequential endurance events. While many variations of the sport exist, triathlon, in its most popular form, involves swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over various distances. Triathletes compete for fastest overall course completion time, including timed "transitions" between the individual swim, bike, and run components. Triathlon made its first appearance at the Summer Olympics during the 2000 Games in Sydney.

Triathlon is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, and the London Olympics competition in Hyde Park promises to draw large enthusiastic crowds.  The women's competition is scheduled for 4th August, Saturday whereas the men's competition is for 7th August, Tuesday. A total of 110 athletes, 55 men and 55 women, are expected to take part competition that you will watch in London Olympics. The London Olympic triathlon contains three components; a 1.5 km (0.93 miles) swim, 40 km (25 miles) cycle, and a 10 km (6.2 miles) run. The competitions take the form of a single event between all competitors with no heats.
