Pentathlon in London Olympic


A pentathlon is a contest featuring five different events. The first pentathlon was documented in Ancient Greece and was part of the Ancient Olympic Games. In this game, five events were contested over one day for the Ancient Olympic pentathlon, starting with the long jump, javelin throw, and discus throw, followed by the stadion and wrestling. In 2012 London Olympics, pentathlon is also one of the included games.

Venues for the events in 2012 Olympics will be the Copper Box, for fencing, the Aquatics Centre in Olympic Park for swimming and Greenwich Park, for the riding and combined running and shooting discipline.
