Swimming in London Olympic


Swimming is movement through water using one's limbs, and usually without artificial apparatus which is a sport activity that can be both useful and recreational. Swimming is also included sport which you can watch in London Olympics. It is expected to feature 34 different events where 17 are men and women respectively. Two of these will be open water swims of 10 kilometers in distance, while the remaining 32 events will be contested in a 50m, long course pool.

Swimming competition at 2012 Olympics will take place over eight days between 28 July and 4 August. In London Olympics, a total of 950 competitors will take part in 34 different events, with 32 taking place in the iconic Aquatics Centre, and two Marathon Swimming events taking place in Hyde Park. Swimming was one of the highlights of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Twenty-one world records were broken, and Michael Phelps set the world record for the number of medals won at a single Olympic Games. All entries for Swimming will be confirmed following the sport entries deadline on 9 July 2012.
